Rooster® Exofleece long john delivers a 100% neoprene-free solution specifically developed and tested for people with a neoprene allergy and sensitive skin. With all the necessary features and reinforcements to suit high performance dinghy sailing, this long john provides the perfect solution.

The main material is a 1.2mm breathable and durable nylon based fabric with a PU membrane and a soft brushed fleece lining, which creates windproof protection, whilst regulating temperature and wicking away excess moisture from the skin. We have applied a durable water repellent treatment to the outer surface to minimise water absorption and reduce wind chill further.

Reinforcements at the knee and seat panels have been developed in our materials technology lab with the result of a lightweight PU foam, which we use in place of neoprene. This allows us to achieve the ultimate Neoprene free reinforced panels by bonding the PU foam between a soft plush lining and a Duratex II flexible outer, where its construction mimics its neoprene equivalent.  The synthetic foam does not use the accelerants used in neoprene manufacture that trigger allergic reactions making this is a safe alternative to neoprene. The outer material is a mix of Nylon and elastane giving the garment a ladder free stretchy exterior that protects from the harshest of deck surfaces while the soft plush lining enables the user to attach hiking and knee pads as required by competitive dinghy sailors.  These layers combined produce 3.5mm of cushioning to enhance performance and comfort in these key high abrasion areas.
